I am trying to get better at blogging and updating the website, but between the business and running after my two year old, I somehow always seem to put it off. I am officially announcing that there will be an update with pictures and recent events that Sister Act Designs has been involved in or inspired by twice a month..... or that at least is my goal.
Here we go.... so, you guys thought we only did weddings.... nope, we do it all! I had the honor of working with the fabulous Gossner Family out of Peachtree City, Georgia. They hired me to design, decorate and host the graduations for two of their four sons. This was an interesting event because we were celebrating two great individuals, one graduating from high school and one graduating from law school. I could not be school-specific in my colors - which is often easy when doing a graduation party - as their schools colors were complete opposites.
The party, which took place in their backyard, was for around 100 guests. It turned out to be a beautiful event with a theme of sunflowers, wood and lanterns. We rented the tables and chairs, but did all the flower arrangement ourselves and all the other decor items were from our own rental inventory. Take a look and see if there is something you might need for your next party....
This was the buffet table. We decided to use plastic table cloths were all food items would be served. It also made it feel less formal. We hid a portion of the back of the house with hanging fabric and a burlap "Congratulations" sign. On the back wall we filled assorted sized colored bottles with mums, sunflowers, and ferns.
Each table consisted of a centerpiece with a wood plank, assorted colored bottles, wood wheat grass bucket, and lantern.
This was one of my favorite projects. We used an open frame with back board and placed burlap fabric on it with a photo of each graduate and a little information about their future prospects.
